Black Torch is a native, evergreen shrub that reaches 8 feet in height. It produces clusters of small, white flowers followed by berry drupes that support both pollinators and birds. Black Torch is perfect for coastal and wildlife gardens and can be grown as a specimen or informal buffer. It is a salt-tolerant, low-maintenance plant that thrives in well-drained alkaline soils with a moderate level of soil moisture.

  • Full sun to part shade

  • Average, well-drained, sandy soil; storm surge and salt spray tolerant

  • Likes neutral to high ph soils

  • Small white flowers bloom year round, good nectar source
