Lakeside twinflower is a lawn alternative for areas where there is soil moisture (lakesides or swales) and/or regular irrigation. It’s perennial and can be semi-dormant if there is a freeze. Lakeside Twinflower blooms blue/purple flowers spring to fall and is a larval food source for the Buckeye butterfly.

  • Perennial, dormant in winter if there is a freeze, spreading groundcover, 1-2 ft.

  • Sun to partial shade, not salt-tolerant.

  • Average to moist soil. Attractive foliage, makes a great groundcover in sun to shade.

  • Blue/purple flowers spring to fall.

  • Larval food for Buckeye butterfly.
