Edible berries
Beautyberry is a showy and colorful large shrub for dry shade to light sun. It has a fountain-like weeping habit most of the time and it loses it’s leave for a short time in our Florida winter. It’s showy berries are a food source for birds throughout the winter. Beautyberry berries are edible to humans when ripe and the leaves, when crushed have mosquito repelling qualities.
